We regularly hold seminars “Colloquium”, inviting experts from other institutions. On weekly basis we also have informal seminars including progress reports given by group members, Journal Club, which is to introduce newly arrived papers of our choice, and students’ seminars consisting of undergraduate and M.Sc. students to read standard nuclear physics textbooks.

“Nature of $0^+_2$ states in lighter mass nuclei“
13 March 2024
Abstract: In lighter mass nuclei, the usual nuclear shell gaps are not very huge, lead- ing to easy nucleonic excitations, resulting in the mixing of configurations from intruder space below core to normal valence space. In this seminar, the influence of such configuration mixing on the low-lying energy spectra of N = 28 isotones below and above 40Ca will be presented using the configuration-mixed interacting boson model. A special focus will be made on the isomeric nature of 0+2 state in 44S and the predictions in 42Si and 46Ar.
